Many young Bulgarians learn the folk music and promote it worldwide. An example can be a career of 15-year-old Anna Monika who comes from Bulgaria but nowadays she lives and performs in Canada. The young girl became so famous overseas that one Canadian television station made a movie about her creative activity. One of the documented events was her performance of Bulgarian folklore at the Carabram Festival of Cultures in Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"428\" height=\"645\" src=\"https:\/\/ycbs.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/annamonika-e02.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-92\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ycbs.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/annamonika-e02.jpg 428w, https:\/\/ycbs.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/annamonika-e02-199x300.jpg 199w, https:\/\/ycbs.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/annamonika-e02-8x12.jpg 8w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 428px) 100vw, 428px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ycbs.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/folk.mp3\"><\/audio><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">English version<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The sentence \u201cProtschu se Strandscha planina\u201c means \u201cStrandscha became famous\u201d and that is also a name of one of Anna-Monika\u2019s songs. Strandscha is a wild mountainous area in south-eastern Bulgaria and many folk songs and poems are dedicated to this region. 20-year-old Valerie enthralls her audience by songs involving many voices and melody stemming from the Schopski folk area (Sofia and its surrounding area).
