“Cultural diversity enriches us” Amanda from Brazil says

I am Amanda Navacinsk Ferreira, I am 21 years old and have been living in Sao Paulo, Brazil since my birth. My ancestors are from Lithuania and Brazil.

I am learning the German language for four years now because I like the language and have a keen interest in improving it, my native language is Portuguese and I can also communicate in English.

I chose to come to Berlin because of my interest in the German language and culture, in order to gain the professional experience I am doing an internship at YCBS.

I decided to move to a different country because of my fascination towards different cultures of the world and the challenge to get acquainted with different mindsets and cultures excites me.  

Berlin is a very multicultural city.

Brazil was colonized by the Portuguese therefore Portuguese is the native language (not Spanish or „Brazilian”) but German is also spoken in the South because of migration of Germans after the war which resulted in a German colony. Brazil consists of not only Europeans but also people from all over the world.

We can say that Brazil does not have a cultural trait but the Brazilian culture is influenced by the immigrants from all over the world, we have a huge cultural mix like Portuguese language, Italian food, African music and more.  Brazil is known for the beautiful people with diverse cultures and great historical treasures.

I believe the Germans have many reasons to be proud of their country. The quality of life and safety standards are high, well developed health system, efficient public transport and a good educational system which is easily accessible for young people irrespective of being rich or poor.

A diversidade cultural nos enriquece 

Meu nome é Amanda Navacinsk Ferreira, tenho 21 anos, moro em Sao Paulo, no Brasil e sou estudante de Jornalismo.

Sempre tive interesse em aprender novas linguas, e escolhi o alemao porque além de ter gostado do idioma, sempre me identifiquei com a cultura e história da Alemanha. 

No momento, estou estagiando na Radio YCBS para poder adquirir experiencia profissional e praticar meus conhecimentos na lingua.

A diversidade cultural è um assunto que me interessa, por isso è importante para mim morar em outro pais para poder conviver e aprender com novas culturas. Berlin è um estado que por conta dos seus imigrantes, pode-se encontrar pessoas de todas os cantos do mundo.

Isso também acontece no Brasil, que uma de suas caracteristicas é ser multicultural, que nao recebe apenas imigrantes europeus, como de outras partes. O idioma oficial è o Portugues , e nao Espanhol ou “brasileiro” como muitas pessoas pensam. Mas, no sul, o alemao também è utilizado por conta da colonia alema que lá se formou depois da primeira guerra.

O processo imigratório foi de extrema importancia para formacao da cultura brasileira, pois foram  unindo caracteristicas de todos os povos que lá habitavam, e hoje, vemos nitidamente os resultados. Temos uma culinária italiana, o próprio idioma Portugues, ritmos africanos, e uma grande heranca indígena, o que contribuiu para esse grande valor historico que o país possui.
