Students from Taranto-Italy, Bergen-Norway and Kleinmachnow-Germany are coming together. Their first gathering is in December this year, in Kleinmachnow- where the German partner school „Maxim Gorki“ located is.

In the course of Comenius project the students start to exchange experiences in the field environment, health and international life.

At the „Maxim Gorki-School“ the students attend a radio workshop creating a short radio program. They introduce themselves and talk about home cities, hobbies and also expectations from the Comenius project. The common language of communication is English, nevertheless, the Italian teacher, Mr. Stefanelle quoted in Italian language a part of the poem by the famous Italian writer Francesco Petrarca dedicated to his girlfriend Laura.

We have also heard Norwegian and German languages as well as a Norwegian song, which lyrics were written by the poet Nordhal Grieg. An interresting fact is, that Nordhal Grieg originally from Bergen was a soldier during the World War II and his airplane had an crash over Kleinmachnow. Therefore, in KLeinmachnow was build a memorial for Grieg.

Lyrics of the song Til Ungdommen (To The Youth)

Faced by your enemies

On every hand

Battle is menacing,

Now make your stand

Nordhal Grieg

Rime in vita e morta di Madonna Laura (after 1327), translated into English as Petrarca’s Sonnets, were inspired by Petrarca’s unrequited passion for Laura.

Era il giorno ch’al sol si scoloraro

per la pietà del suo factore i rai,

quando ì fui preso, et non me ne guardai,

chè i bè vostr’occhi, donna, mi legaro.

It was the day the sun’s ray had turned pale

with pity for the suffering of his Maker

when I was caught, and I put up no fight,

my lady, for your lovely eyes had bound me.

Francesco Petrarca
